Lash is one of Deadlock's most mobile heroes, turning height and movement into a weapon. While most characters fight on the ground, Lash is at home in the air: he grapples onto enemies and surfaces, lifts opponents off their feet and slams them back down. In skilled hands he is a disruptor who dives into the backline, breaks the enemy formation and leaves as fast as he arrived.
Role and Strengths
Lash's main job is to start fights and pull key targets out of position. He works best against fragile gunners and casters who rely on range: a single good engage strips them of their spacing and often their life. At the same time Lash holds up well in drawn-out brawls thanks to his life-stealing damage, so you can play him as a semi-carry or as an aggressive support bruiser.
Ability Breakdown
Ground Strike is a ground slam that launches enemies in front of Lash. It is his main setup tool: launched opponents briefly lose control of themselves, giving you the window to follow up. The damage scales with fall height, so the strike hits hardest when you slam from elevated ground.
Grapple is the hook Lash uses to pull himself toward an enemy or surface. It is both engage and escape: you can leap onto a marksman over a wall, or yank yourself back to safety. An upgraded grapple deals damage and interrupts the target's actions, making it an excellent cast cancel.
Flog is a sweep that hits the area in front of the hero and returns part of the damage dealt to Lash as health. It is his source of steady sustain in lane and in fights; remember to clip creeps and grouped enemies with it to keep your health bar high.
Death Slam is the ultimate that grabs every enemy around Lash, lifts them into the air and hurls them down. The higher the launch point, the more damage it deals, which is why experienced players cast it from rooftops, ziplines and ledges. Beyond the damage, it is a powerful repositioning tool: you can rip a foe out from under a tower or drop a whole group straight into your team.
Combos and Tactics
The basic combo goes like this: grapple onto your target, land next to it and immediately use Ground Strike to launch it, then finish with auto-attacks and Flog. For team fights, save Death Slam — the best moment comes when enemies have grouped up and you are above them. Do not waste the ult on a single target if the entire enemy team is standing nearby.
Build and Beginner Tips
Early on, buy survivability items and a little weapon power so you can farm confidently and trade blows. Toward the mid game, add cooldown reduction and items that boost Spirit damage — they directly improve Death Slam and Grapple. The key skill on Lash is patience: wait until an enemy strays off their own ground or groups up with no escape, and only then dive in. A bad engage without support almost always ends in death, while a well-timed moment can win entire fights.
