Choose the active partner, not a permanent favorite

Watcher's Covenant should follow the teammate whose next action matters most. In lane that may be the ally trading from nearby cover; during a rotation it may be the initiator about to cross a dangerous threshold. Reassess as positions change rather than treating the first link as a permanent assignment that excuses Ivy from reading the fight.

A good partner is close enough to share the moment and healthy enough to act on it. Linking to someone retreating far from the objective may preserve a weak formation while abandoning the player creating real pressure.

Place Kudzu Bomb where movement becomes a choice

Kudzu Bomb controls compact ground, so aim for doorways, corners, objective edges, and retreat paths instead of empty open space. The best placement asks an opponent to remain in danger, take a longer route, or cross a sightline your team already holds. Throwing it directly at a moving enemy without considering their destination often spends control behind them.

Use the ability before a push to reserve a pocket for allies, during a fight to divide support from a front liner, or after pressure begins to discourage pursuit. Each purpose implies different timing.

Treat Stone Form as a deliberate reversal

Stone Form can interrupt the rhythm of an enemy commitment and give Ivy a safer beat in a chaotic exchange. Use it when the landing will matter: beside an ally who needs relief, onto an opponent whose pressure must stop, or within ground already shaped by Kudzu Bomb . Entering the form without a landing idea can leave the next position just as dangerous.

Because the ability changes Ivy 's vulnerability and movement, opponents may wait for its end. Anticipate the angle from which they will resume attacking and land near cover or friendly control.

Give Air Drop a destination and a second plan

Air Drop can transport an ally and rapidly change which part of the map has support. Select the passenger for what they can accomplish on arrival, then mark a landing zone with cover, escape options, and a target worth contesting. Flying because a fight exists is incomplete planning; the approach can expose both players if enemies already control the destination.

Keep an alternate landing in mind as information changes during flight. A defended rooftop, sudden rotation, or lost teammate may turn the original plan into a trap. Redirecting to safe ground still creates tempo and preserves the pair for the next action. When carrying an explosive or durable initiator, communicate the release so their entrance and Ivy 's follow-up occur together.

Connect the kit around a small zone

Ivy 's clean sequence begins by choosing a partner with Watcher's Covenant and identifying the ground that player wants. Kudzu Bomb then limits the enemy's comfortable routes. Stone Form answers the opponent who forces entry despite that warning, while ordinary weapon pressure helps the linked ally convert the disruption into an advantage.

Air Drop extends the same idea to a new location rather than replacing it with spectacle. Arrive beside defensible geometry, establish Kudzu Bomb coverage, and let the passenger act from the protected side.

Support the map without abandoning the fight

Mobility tempts Ivy to answer every distant problem, but departure has a cost. Before rotating, ask whether the current ally can safely disengage and whether the destination offers a concrete objective, rescue, or favorable numbers. Leaving a stable lane to reinforce a decisive contest is useful; leaving mid-exchange because another marker flashed can collapse both positions.

Communicate movement early and use the map to predict where a compact fight will form. Ivy prefers spaces where Kudzu Bomb blocks a meaningful route and Watcher's Covenant keeps a partner within influence. If opponents refuse those spaces, the team gains passage or objective access. Area control succeeds even when no enemy volunteers to stand inside it.

Evaluate whether allies could use the help

Review Ivy by tracking outcomes for the supported player, not only Ivy 's survival. Did Watcher's Covenant reach the ally during their active window? Did Kudzu Bomb make their target easier to approach? Did Stone Form interrupt danger near someone who could respond? These questions reveal timing errors that personal damage totals cannot explain.

Practice Air Drop routes with several landing alternatives, then rehearse the ground sequence immediately after arrival. Adapt purchases to the function the team lacks, such as safer access, more frequent control, or the durability to remain beside a partner. Avoid a fixed build that assumes every match asks Ivy to support the same hero in the same way.
